Maria Gutzeit is the owner and principal engineer at Compliance Plus. She has 30 years experience in the environmental compliance arena. She began her career with Fortune 500 industry, including Amoco Oil, Waste Management of California, and Anheuser Busch. After serving as a site environmental engineer for three Southern California facilities, she founded Compliance Plus in 1995. The company serves industrial clients in Southern California and the western United States. Gutzeit focuses on a multi-media approach to ensure environmental compliance, integrating air, hazardous material, stormwater, wastewater, and waste management issues into programs that allow companies to efficiently meet and exceed regulatory expectations. Specialties include hazardous waste management, waste minimization and Federal MACT/NESHAPS issues.
Ms. Gutzeit has a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana, where she was a National Merit Scholar and Illinois Society of Professional Engineering Scholarship recipient. She has presented at the California Unified Program Agency (CUPA) training conference, the California Metals Coalition environmental seminars, the Association of California Water Agencies, and corporate training retreats.
